I have no idea what I'm doing

The predecessor to the present firm was founded in 1936 when Gerald Larson started a law office in Harlan, Iowa. Gerald left Harlan in the 1940's to serve his country in World War II. He returned to Harlan and resumed the law practice after the war ended.  In 1961, Gerald's son Jerry Larson joined the firm.

In 1972, after graduating from law school and serving his country in the Vietnam conflict, Michael P. Childs joined the firm.  Jerry Larson left the firm to become a District Court Judge and later, a Justice on the Iowa Supreme Court.  The partnership was then known as Larson & Childs.

Robert W. Hall joined the firm in 1976.  Gerald Larson, Michael Childs and Robert Hall practiced law together until Gerald's retirement in 1980 under the partnership name Larson, Childs and Hall.

Edward W. Bjornstad became an asociate with the firm in 1984.  He left the firm in 1986 to become president of Farmers Savings Bank in Irwin, Iowa.

Jerry Larson's son Jeffrey joined the firm in the mid 1980's. Jeffrey's sister Susan Larson Christensen later joined the firm.  The partnerhip then became Larson, Childs, Hall & Christensen.  Susan left the firm in 2001 and went into private practice on her own.  Jeff left the firm in 2003 when he was appointed a District Court Judge.  The name of the firm then changed to Childs and Hall, P.C.
